About Ready to give up

Ready to give up started this conversation

Hi,  I am completely ready to give up... Nomatter what I do or how I try to make things better, something else goes wrong. I hate my job yet I will NOT quit that as I am a single mother of a disabled 7 yr old boy. My poor baby has been through so much...

I am in need of a car so desperatley, as I need to get to work, my sons  Drs, Therapy etc.... I have put every dollar I have in my car and yet it still breaks down the very next day, problem after problem. I just put a new break system in my car front and back, blead them the whole nine, and quess what I have breaks one day and they are gone again... Thats just one problem... I cry all the time, I just cant seem to get ahead.. I try so hard... I have to leave work so much because I am constanly at my sons school.. I am on the verge of being fired, therefore my check barely covers the rent and nothing else, and I can not get assistance or SSI for my son because the hrs I am supposed to work i fall 50.00 over the max allowed. Its a family of 2 therefore we should be able to make it they say.. A family of 2 is harder as you are the only one working, not your child... I just dont get it.. I NEED HELP AND IM READY TO LOSE IT....

You need to call ssi again.no matter what your income is he has his needs, here in ct.there is a few people i know that make ateast 600.a week and others that own home plus great jobs and there kid gets ssi.you need to push it the squeaky wheel gets the oil.also see about getting care for kids, that way you have a babysiter to be er contact and u will not have to leave work.i am sure you have a friend u n ur son like n trust, put them down as your sons babysitter n care for kids will pay them 325/400.a month.ssi#1800-772-1213 applng for ur son interview over the phone they send u papers to fill out then dr.releases n history.etc.turn down appeal, appeal.give it another try.if ur missing hrs.then ur income also is lowwer.Do the have the foodstamp program there?go for that.if u already get them, then ask that state worker about care for kids.even if your working only durning school gours you still need a sitter on call for snow days sick day, school vaca.etc.hope i was some help.God Bless and keep the Faith.i know ts hard, believe me i know.later

I have a disabled child and I know it's tough!  Here are some ideas: Maybe you can get a job at your son's school?  Many areas have programs that help the disabled get to their appointments - check with the dept of transportation and even your son's school for more info.  Also the Shriners and the Elks may have some asisstance for you.  I think you can get put on a low-cost utility program since there is someone disabled in your home -maybe that will free up some money.  In my area some of the local supermarkets offer free shuttle service.  You migth also want to look in your area for an auto mechanic school (my high school had a program) that would look over your car and make repairs for less.  Maybe it's not your car, maybe it's your mechanic, LOL!  Have you talked to your boss?  Maybe there is some work you could do from home or offer to work on weekends or whatever extra thing you think they would need, so you show him how important your job is to you.  Hope that helps!  Best wishes, Rosie
